This is a rare vintage promotional booklet released by Epic Records for the English punk rock band The Clash to promote their fourth studio album “Sandinista!,” a triple album released in 1980. Picturing all four founding members Joe Strummer, Mick Jones, Paul Simonon and Nicky “Topper” Headon, the 20 page, 8.25 X 11.625 book, printed in black and white, is filled with newsprint copy and pictures detailing the bands rise to success just a few years after being formed in 1976. The Clash’s politicized lyrics, music experimentation and rebellious behavior had a wide reaching influence on the growth of alternative rock, earning their reference as “The Only Band That Matters.” “Sandinista!” was voted the best album of 1980 in a critics poll sponsored by “The Village Voice.” Very good condition.
