This amazing piece of 10K gold jewelry is an original 1980 Soccer Bowl World Championship ring from the New York Cosmos famous coach and former goalkeeper Yasin Ozdenak; a Turkish goalkeeper known by many soccer fans as Erol Yasin. This is the first of its' kind that we have ever seen offered from the realm of the North American Soccer League. The Cosmos were the winningest team in the now defunct League winning the 1972 Championship and the Soccer Bowl Championships of 1977, 1978, 1980 and 1982. Ozdenak was the Cosmos goalkeeper and teammate of soccer legends Pele and Franz Beckenbauer before becoming a head coach for the 1980-81 seasons. The ring itself has a beautiful circular face with the Cosmos logo set with diamonds surrounded by lettering, "COSMOS NASL CHAMPIONS 1980." The left side is engraved with the logo design for the 1980 Soccer Bowl which was played in Washington DC in September of that year against the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers whom were defeated before a nationally televised audience 3-0. The team names of either opponent appear on a banner design surrounding the "relief" design of the Championship trophy on the right side of the ring with the name "YASIN," engraved above it. The ring is engraved on the inside by the manufacturer, "10K JOSTENS." This ring is affordable by comparison to any of Pele's which would be priceless, yet provides the equally rare opportunity to acquire an actual ring from another renowned member of this history making team from the sport that has more spectators around the world than any other. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
