Born in Factoryville, Pennsylvania, Christy Mathewson was emblematic of the early American dream by rising from his humble beginnings to become an MLB icon and war hero. With two World Series wins, two pitching Triple Crown wins, and two Perfect Games, Mathewson had one of the greatest careers of all-time before Ruth and the New York Yankees solidified baseball as America's passtime. It is no doubt, however, that without the foundation Mathewson helped build baseball could never have turned into what it is today. This is one of his most iconic and recognizable card from the beloved 1911 Turkey card set. This is a must have for collectors of every level.
