This is John Lennon's brown leather guitar strap that he used for the Beatles last commercial concert, which took place on August 29, 1966 at Candlestick Park in San Francisco, the last night of their last tour. The strap was given backstage after the concert to San Francisco Chronicle music critic Ralph Gleason by Beatles road manager Bob Bonis. Celebrated rock photographer Jim Marshall was also there backstage that night and he took photographs of Gleason with the Beatles and Bob Bonis which appeared at the time in the Chronicle and later in the book "Tomorrow Never Knows: The Beatles' Last Concert" by Eric Lefcowitz. Very good condition. A copy of this book accompanies the strap as well as a letter of provenance from Gleason's son Toby, and a 6 x 8 black and white page from The Beatles Book featuring John wearing this strap, or one nearly identical to it. Also comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
