This lot contains both a first day cover and a group of four unused stamps signed by American actor Vincent Price using a blue ballpoint pen. The first day cover is honoring film director and pioneer D.W. Griffith, and the stamps are made with the likeness of the 1942 film “Yankee Doodle Dandy”. Price is one of a small handful of entertainers to have not just one but two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame — one for film and one for television. Very Good condition. The first day cover measures 6.5” x 3.75” and the stamps measure 3.5” x 5”. This lot comes from the extensive personal collection of a life-long collector of Historical, Entertainment and Sports artifacts and memorabilia. The collector has amassed a virtually unmatched collection that is one of the largest we have ever seen. This lot comes with a letter from Gotta Have Rock and Roll.com stating that it was sold in the Gotta Have History Winter Auction, February 16-25, 2022.
