An incredible green fender guitar played & signed by Tom Petty. Our consignor was granted a wish by the starlight children’s foundation and he decided to meet his favorite musician, Tom Petty. They scheduled to meet on August 17, 2002 at the UMB Bank Pavilion in St. Louis, MO. While there, they generously gave picks, drumsticks, a setlist, etc. Tom pulled a keychain right out of his pocket and handed it to our consignor. Tom seemed to take to the guitar our consignor brought him, picking it up and playing it for a while. Giving a private concert backstage using this green Fender guitar. He signed the pickguard and drew one of his caricatures on it. A couple photos were taken before Tom left the room. From left to right in both photos: Ron Blair, Scott Thurston, Steve Ferrone, Tom Petty, our consignor, Benmont Tench and Mike Campbell. In both photos, Tom is seen holding the guitar after he played, signed and drew the caricature on it. It is incredible to find a Petty played & signed guitar, but even more incredible to find one with this letter of provenance and back story to it. Comes with a letter of provenance and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
