Rare Eastern Airlines luggage tag once belonging to Heavyweight boxing legend Muhammad Ali. The 3 X 1.625 thick plastic tag is embossed with Ali’s New Jersey address, “Mr & Mrs Muhammad Ali, 1121 Windin Drive, Cherry Hill, N.J.” that he resided at from 1971 until 1973. Ali moved to New Jersey anticipating his $2.5 million dollar pay day expected from his first fight with Joe Frazier scheduled for March 8, 1971 at Madison Square Garden. Not only did Ali desire to be close to New York City but still be able to enjoy peace and serenity, Cherry Hill was also close to the training camp that he purchased in Deer Lake, Pennsylvania. Ali is said to have been very social while living in Cherry Hill, often riding a bicycle through the neighborhood while stopping to converse with neighbors and answering his doorbell to strangers often providing an autograph or posing for photographs.
