This is an extremely rare Mickey Mantle game used baseball cap worn by this legendary New York Yankee sometime during his tenure as a young rookie with the Yankees 1951-1952. Accompanied by file copies of an Grey Flannel opinion letter which notes the appropriate details of a Mantle worn cap from this era, including the “NY” embroidered logo on the top front of the cap, Mantle’s uniform number “7” written in dated marker underneath the brim and the “McAuliffe ”manufacturers tag and “7 ¼” size tag on the inside band. A copy of a letter indicates Mantle gifted this cap in 1952 to a gentleman who drove him to and from Yankee Stadium. Also included is a color snapshot photograph from a later year of one of Mickey Mantle’s brothers proudly holding this very same cap. Mantle's baseball accomplishments were exceptional including hitting eighteen World Series homeruns which still stands as a record today. To date, Mickey Mantle remains one of the most beloved figures in the history of American sport with his game used articles rating among the most sought after of any player. Also comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
