Clara Barton signed handwritten letter dated September 27, 1907 written on two sides of a piece of 5.125 X 6.75 four-sided stationery. In her letter Barton writes regards a loan payment and her inability to write further due to suffering bronchitis. Performing duties as a hospital nurse during the American Civil War, Barton founded the American Red Cross in 1881. Long an advocate of women’s civil rights, long before women were given the right to vote, Barton was elected into the National Women’s Hall of Fame in 1973. Very good condition. Comes with a James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity
