38th President of the United States Gerald R. Ford signed this letter dated September 25, 1974. The letter signed in black autopen is hand signed by Ford, "Best wishes Jerry Ford," in blue ballpoint pen. Gerald Ford served as President from August 1974 to 1977, so this letter was signed at the very beginning of his term. The letter is written to Joseph LoPresti, of Phil’s Barber Shop in New Haven, Connecticut. Ford reminisces “the good old days,” from his time attending Yale University to earn his Doctor of Law degree, noting the shop was the official barber for the Yale football team. Ford was also a distinguished football player winning two National Championships with the University of Michigan Wolverines. Very Good condition. Measures 6.75” x 9”.
