32nd President of the United States Franklin D. Roosevelt Signed this envelope sent from the U.S.S. Houston using a black pen. The envelope is dated October 14, 1935, which took place during his Presidency that lasted from 1933 to his death in 1945. FDR is the only US President to serve more than two terms, and was instrumental in navigating the country out of the Great Depression and through World War II despite suffering from polio and its debilitating after-effects.
