Jesse Owens — the most famous, accomplished, and famous track athlete in history — signed this awards dinner menu in which he was a guest speaker using a black felt-tip pen. The four-time Olympic Gold Medalist broke barriers when he ran at the 1936 Olympic games in Berlin and shattered Adolf Hitler’s myth of “Aryan Supremacy.” Despite his record breaking and historic performance, he was not invited to meet with and shake the President’s hand following his four-medal tally after ‘36. To this date, Owens is consistently ranked in the Top-10 athletes of all-time and has the highest award in all of track named after him. Good condition. Measures 5” x 7”.
