Doug Quackenbush took and stamped this photograph of Thelonious Monk as a part of his iconic series with the jazz pianist. Quackenbush is noted for taking the most prolific and intimate photographs of Monk throughout his famed career. Monk is one of the most prolific and unique careers in jazz. His dissonant sound and peculiar melodies were coupled with his unorthodox pounding of the keys and his tendency to get up and walk away from the piano for long periods of time. Good condition, slight wear to bottom right corner. Measures 8” x 10”. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
