This is an original photograph of Frank Zappa taken and signed by rock and roll photographer Elliot Landy. Landy is an American photographer best known for his pictures of 1960s rock and roll artists, and this photograph he took of Zappa remains one of Zappa’s most iconic. The photograph was taken at his live show at Fillmore East and is dated 1968. Zappa on stage, cigarette in mouth and rudely gesturing to the audience, captures his messy and sometimes violent style of “comedy rock”. Zappa was one of the most influential American rock and roll guitarists who was famously a self-trained composer that fused elements of jazz, pop, rock, funk, blues, and countless other genres to form his unique sound.
