Elvis Presley owned and used "Elvis 1974" etched Playboy glasses. A set of two identical glasses that were given to Elvis in 1974 by a Playbox executive. From the personal collection of renowned booking agent and promotional manager Irwin Pate. For over four decades Irwin Pate promoted talent all over the United States and internationally. During his career he and his wife Clarine obtained a large collection of personal clothing and articles belonging to numerous entertainers, including Elvis Presley. Irwin worked with Elvis and his manager Colonel Tom Parker several times in the 1970's. After Elvis passed away, the Colonel gifted Irwin some articles that had belonged to Elvis, including these two glasses. According to the Colonel, a Playboy executive gave the glasses to Elvis in 1974. Very good condition. The glasses have been in the possession of the Pates up to the time of this auction. Irwin Pate passed away in May of 2018, and the glasses come with a letter of provenance from his wife Clarine Pate on Pate Booking Agency letterhead.
