An extremely rare signature from J.D. Salinger, one of the greatest American writers of the 20th Century. He has signed this Dartmouth Bookstore receipt "J. Salinger" in black ink. The store is located in Hanover, New Hampshire, about 30 minutes from where Salinger lived as a recluse for decades in Cornish. The receipt is dated "8/13/01" and the title of the book purchased is "Fate of Young Jews" which he paid for with his store charge account. Salinger's name as well as then wife Colleen and their address is printed on the receipt. After a series of many relationships after his first marriage he married Colleen O'Neill, forty years his junior, in 1988. Salinger is listed as a book club member of the bookstore on the receipt. Measures 2.75 x 7.5. Very good condition. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
