Written one year after leaving Office as the 34th President of the United States, General Dwight D. Eisenhower signs “D. E.” to his letter dated January 13, 1962 typed on his personal stationery in which laments after moving to Palm Desert “…but to my astonishment and sorrow I find that I am almost as busy as ever…I cannot possibly attend the tournament at Pebble Beach.” Eisenhower further adds “Won’t you please thank Sam Morse and Bing Crosby, in particular, for renewing the suggestion?” (Sam Morse was founder of the Palm Beach Golf Course). Signed in black fountain pen, the 6.5 X 9 letter is framed with photographic picture of Eisenhower. Framed 19 X 14. Very good condition. Comes with a James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
