In 1924, several United States baseball teams traveled to Europe to play exhibition games in hopes of growing popularity of the sport in the continent. Games were played all across Europe. Hall of Famer, Red Faber is seen batting in this XyZ black and white photograph. Faber won 254 games over his 20-year career, a total which ranked 17th-highest in history upon his retirement. At the time of his retirement, he was the last legal spitballer in the American League. Hank Gowdy is seen catching in this photograph. He was the first active major league player to enlist for service in World War I, and the only player to fight in both World War I and World War II. Notably in attendance of this game was Prince Henry. The White Sox ended up beating the New York Giants 6-5 in this game that took place at Stamford Bridge. Good condition. Measures 6 x 8. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
