This is an original ticket stub for Game 1 of the 1951 World Series played between the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. The six-game series, which saw the Yankees win their third consecutive championship, marked the final appearance by 36-year old "Yankee Clipper" Joe DiMaggio, who retired following the Yankees' victory; the first appearance of the Yankees young rookie Mickey Mantle playing in a world series game and the only full world series game played by both DiMaggio and Mantle. Mantle suffered an injury that would cause lingering pain throughout his career during the second game of the 1951 World Series. Good condition with tear in the upper left rain check portion of ticket. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
