From his post presidency position as editor of the “Metropolitan” political and literary magazine, former President Theodore Roosevelt signed this letter dated June 6, 1917 typed on Metropolitan stationery. The letter gives unique insight into his career after the White House as he writes, "I regret to state that, as of course you know, the President has refused my offer. I have no influence with the War Department Whatsoever and cannot make any recommendations to them". Signed “T. Roosevelt,” in black fountain pen, the 7.5 X 11 letter exhibits fold lines from mailings and is accompanied by an 6.5 X 10.5 print engraving. Good condition. Comes with a James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
