Two-page handwritten letter dated May 23, 1942 on The Coronado Hotel, St. Louis, Missouri stationary by Hall of Fame manager Billy Southworth to his wife and daughter. Southworth discusses his team (the Cardinals would go on to win the World Series that year), his worries about the war, and Stan Musial’s home run off Cincinnati earlier in the day. Signed Billy in blue ink. Accompanied by the original envelope which is also signed Wm H. Southworth and Mrs. Wm H. Southworth in blue ink. Measures 7.25 x 10. Very good condition. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll® Certificate of Authenticity.
