Aviation pioneer who founded the Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation after immigrating to the United States from Russia in 1919 has signed this typewritten letter made on Sikorsky corporate letterhead, dated 1945. Sikorsky developed the first Pan American Airways ocean-crossing flying boats in the 1930’s and by the end of that decade designed and flew the first viable American helicopter.
