U2 1982 The Edge Handwritten Postcard Fully Signed By The Group (UK). An original U2 ‘October’ color promotional postcard that was sent to a fan named Joanne Lott on May 17, 1982. The card has been signed by Adam on the reverse, the Edge has hand addressed the card to Joanne on he has also written ‘- J why he has signed both sides I don’t know. But that’s bass players for you. Anyway there is port on the way scouts honor. Edge’ The front side of the postcard has been signed by U2. Bono, the Edge and Larry have all signed in ballpoint pen, the Edge has signed in black ink. Postmarked LONDON 17.5.82. The autographed postcard comes with a letter from the original recipient that reads ‘Back in 1982 if you wanted to know more about a band you had things called fan clubs. Not sure if they exist there days – probably not – given the internet. As a 15 year old I wrote to U2 to join their fan club and was sent this postcard. Whether they sent me anything else I can’t remember. As the years have gone by my musical tastes have changed. I came across this recently. No longer a fan I thought it might like to go to someone who might appreciate it!’. The postcard measures 16.75cm x 11cm (6.6 inches x 4.3 inches). The condition is very good plus.
