This is an original ticket stub for Game 4 of the infamous 1951 World Series played at the Polo Grounds when the New York Yankees defeated the New York Giants by a score of 6-2 on their way to becoming World Champions in this seven game series. Joe DiMaggio hit his eighth and last World Series homerun during this game. The 1951 World Series marked the beginning of a new era in baseball with the participation of two future superstars playing in their very first World Series during their rookie seasons, Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays. Mays fielding and great arm was instrumental in getting the Giants to the World Series (beating the Dodgers for the Pennant), and was voted that year's Most Valuable Player (MVP). This was also the only World Series in which Mickey Mantle and Joe DiMaggio played together. In prevailing over the Giants in the World Series, the Yankees ended the Giants "Cinderella" season with their new rookie star, Mickey Mantle earning his first World Series ring and Joe DiMaggio his last. Very good condition. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
