These are Elvis Presley's custom "TCB" prescription sunglasses that were made for him to wear on stage at his historic June 11, 1972 concerts at Madison Square Garden and that he subsequently wore on numerous occasions afterwards. Elvis performed before an audience of 20,000 fans at each of the four shows that took place June 9-11, 1972 (that’s a total of 80,000 fans for the entire weekend). Elvis’ Madison Square Garden shows were the first time Elvis performed in front of a live audience in New York since 1957 and he became the first entertainer in history to sell out four consecutive shows at Madison Square Garden in New York City. This pair of iconic sunglasses for one of his most iconic shows was customized by Optique Boutique for Elvis by Dennis Roberts. Dennis Roberts owned the Optique Boutique where Elvis bought over 400 pair of customized sunglasses with the TCB lightning bolt on both sides. Dennis also prided himself with making some of the TCB necklaces for Elvis. Dennis confirms that this pair is one of four pairs made for the show, with the three holes on the side being the trademark for the MSG concert pair. Charlie Hodge, Lamar Fike, Ed Bonja and Sonny West all confirmed this pair is one of the four pairs and that Elvis wore this pair at the concert and on numerous occasions after. Very good condition. Comes with letters of authenticity from Dennis Roberts, Charlie Hodge, Lamar Fike, Ed Bonja and Sonny West, as well as a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity. Also accompanied by an actual concert ticket from the June 11, 1972 show.
