From the Frank DiLeo Michael Jackson Collection, this is Michael Jackson manager and famed record executive Frank DiLeo's personally owned large portfolio filled with the original artwork comprised of sketches and photographs used for the creation of Michael Jackson's film "Moonwalker." The sketches contained in the portfolio are the original photocopies of the artist's original sketches that were given to DiLeo and Jackson for review. The large portfolio, bearing a "Smooth Criminal" patch attached to the cover contains over 50 large plastic pages filled with the artwork and photographs used for the film production. DiLeo and Jackson were co-Executive Producers on the movie and thus had to oversee and give their approval to the artwork used to create it which is why DiLeo owned this portfolio. DiLeo, whose prolific career in the record business touched numerous artists, was best known for his work with Michael Jackson. The magic began when Michael Jackson's "Thriller" album was released by Epic Records in 1982 when Frank DiLeo was Vice President of National Promotion for the company. After the stellar success of "Thriller," Michael was so happy with Frank's innovative work in promoting the album, he asked DiLeo to become his manager and he managed Michael 1984 to 1989, and partnered with Jackson again in 2009 for the “This Is It” concert series. In addition to "Moonwalker", DiLeo executive produced three of Michael's Pepsi-Cola commercials (including negotiating a landmark endorsement deal with Pepsi), and eight of Michael's music videos, including the Grammy winning video "Leave Me Alone." DiLeo oversaw Jackson's “Bad World Tour,” and the Jackson family's “Victory Tour.” DiLeo later partnered up with Jackson again in 2009 in preparation for Michael's sold-out "This Is It" concert tour that sadly never took place due to the singer's tragic death eighteen days prior to the start. Measures 15.5 x 1.5 x 17.75. Very good condition. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity and a letter of provenance from the DiLeo family.
