Dr. Seuss has signed and inscribed the bottom corner of an inside page of this original 1957 "Cat In The Hat" book, "For Ben with Best Wishes From Dr. Seuss" in green ink. Printed in 1957 by Random House, this book is a first edition book, but it is impossible to tell if it is also a first printing because the jacket is not present. This was a library book from the East Forest High School Library in Marienville, Pennsylvania, and it bear's two stamps from the school as well as the card slot for the library card and the stamped dates it was taken out. There is also writing and some scribbling from students on the inside front and the inside back, mostly in pencil. There is also some staining on the page that has the signed inscription. The book measures 6.5 x 9 x .5.
