Don Henley wrote this letter, typed on 7.25 x 10.5 stationery, to his friend Helen Pollock during a pivotal point in his career. He signed the letter "Don" in blue ballpoint pen on the second page. Dated January 18, 1971 Henley refers to his first album to be released with his band Shiloh in just a few weeks. The album was produced by his friend, and fellow Texan, Kenny Rogers. It was all starting to happen for Henley, as it was later in September of that same year that the Eagles were formed and released their first album in 1972, which contained the hit song "Take It Easy." The rest, as we know, is history! Written from his home in Linden, Texas, This is a very personal letter for Henley as he also talks about going home and everyone, and everything feeling "a little older", and his house smelling like his grandmothers when he was a little kid. Accompanied by the original envelope hand addressed by Henley with a note on the back "P.S. It appears that you will get to meet Rick." Very good condition. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
