J. Edgar Hoover — the first Director of the FBI — signed this letter to FBI worker Mrs. Bertha L. Myers informing her of her promotion. Hoover was appointed Director of the FBI in 1935 and served there for 37 years until his death in 1972. This letter is dated December 13, 1944, and is a notice of promotion from $1440 to $1500 per annum. Good condition, with slight edge wear. Measures 8” x 7”. Comes with a James Spence Authentication (JSA) Certification of Authentication and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
