First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt has signed this letter typed on White House stationery dated October 31, 1944 to Evangeline Booth (addressed “Dear General Booth”) the active fourth General of the Salvation Army and the daughter of its’ founder William Booth. Written during WWII and her husband’s successful campaign for a fourth term in Office as President during a period of declining health, Roosevelt writes “…the President and I are deeply appreciative of your prayers and good wishes.” Signed in black fountain pen. 6 X 9. Very good condition. Comes with a James Spence Authentication (JSA) Certificate of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
