Elvis Presley owned and worn long wine velvet elaborately beaded velvet caftan robe. According to "Memphia Mafia" member Charlie Hodge, Elvis had several of these long velvet robets that he would wear over his pajamas at Graceland and also when flying in his plane. Elvis gave this dark wine-brown robe with beads and sequins to his girlfriend Sheila, who he dates for quite some time in the 1970's. Charlie first met Elvis when Charlie was with the Foggy Mountain River boys, and they met again when Elvis was in the U.S. Army going to Germany. Elvis and Charlie were close friends and Charlie lived at Graceland in a basement apartment that Elvis had made for him, until Elvis passed away in 1977. Charlie was also Elvis' stage director and sang harmony on stage with him, and handed him his stage scarves. Charlie also helped Elvis with his set list for the shows and appeared as an extra in many of his films. This beautifully detailed robe is in very good condition and is accompanied by a copy of a signed letter from Sheila Ryan and a signed letter from Charlie Hodge on his personal letterhead, as well as a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
