This original Charles Hamilton Autographs Catalog 40, is one of the early catalogs put out by Charles Hamilton, considered one of the premier autograph authenticators of his day. Hamilton opened his gallery on Madison Avenue, New York City in the early 1950s. The catalog is undated, however, it is interesting to note that Hamilton personally wrote and designed each of his catalogs, and he states on the last page “You are reading this catalog on the day of issue. Our catalogs are mailed according to a post office planned schedule and are timed to reach ALL collectors on the same day!” Signatures evaluated in the catalog include an important document from Charles Goodyear, the Duke of Wellington, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Rudyard Kipling, plus many, many more!
