This rare 1986 New York Mets World Series Louisville Slugger "Black Bat" award is stamped "New York Mets World Champions, 1986" with facsimile and block letter signatures of the team engraved predominantly in gold, including Derek Jeter, Wade Boggs, Mariano Rivera, Bernie Williams, David Cone, Daryl Strawberry, Paul O’Neill, Willie Randolph, Andy Pettitte and John Wetteland. These bats, begun in 1934, were made in extremely limited quantities for presentation to players and executives. The Yankees defeated the Braves, four games to two, to capture their first World Series title since 1978 and their 23rd World Series championship overall. Yankees relief pitcher John Wetteland was named the World Series Most Valuable Player for saving all four Yankee wins. Excellent condition. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
