This is Greg Hildebrandt’s third painting of Marilyn Monroe in his interpretation of Tom Kelley’s Red Velvet series. Marilyn has long been the iconic pin-up model, sex symbol, actress, and legend on a global scale. In this beautifully rendered homage painting, Greg Hildebrandt has interpreted pieces of Tom Kelley’s infamous Red Velvet series, which appeared in the first issue of Playboy Magazine in 1953. Greg has always regarded Monroe as the ultimate pin-up. Her alluring and enigmatic presence has captivated audiences for generations. There is nothing more exquisite than an expertly crafted painting of this mesmerizing woman in all of her youth and glamour. Greg loves painting Marilyn.

Greg Hildebrandt and his twin brother, Tim, were born in 1939. They were avid artists from a young age & carried their artistic passion with them throughout their lives.

In 1975, Greg and Tim illustrated the first in a series of Lord of the Rings calendars for Ballantine Books. This series launched them into international fame with over a million calendars sold! In 1977, 20th Century Fox and Lucas Films hired the Brothers Hildebrandt to create the movie poster for Star Wars: A New Hope.

Greg has many collectors which include, Robin Williams and Michael Jackson.

Greg has worked on a variety of projects—with and without Tim—ranging from Marvel Masterpieces to his American Beauties vintage pin up art. His clients include Marvel, DC, Heavy Metal Magazine, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and more. Currently, Greg is painting comic book covers for Marvel, illustrating the program cover art for TSO, and working on his “American Beauties” series of 40’s/50’s style pin-up paintings that reaches over 110 pieces in total!
