The multimedia artist, Dehara Yukinori, is from Tokyo, and his art ranges from clay sculptures to Sofubi felt material. At age 49, Yukinori garnered a cult-like following within the Vinyl and Toy Art community. His experience within the art world allows him to act as a connection/collaboration between old-school and new-school Sofubi artform. A member of Menpe (Tokyo Men's Painters Society), Yukinori is an incredibly elusive artist - who has had several exhibitions worldwide yet rarely makes an appearance or even leaves Tokyo.
Yukinori uses a combination of soft and vinyl, also known as Sofubi, a contemporary art form that originated in Japan. These pieces are much harder to find as they are handmade and generally take longer to create than clay figurines. Yukinori has taken on an instructor role within the Japanese toy-art vinyl scene community - helping the younger generation re-connect with the older generation's art and style.
