THIS LOT IS CLOSED FOR BIDDING An incredible piece of Billy Gibbons history, this was one of Gibbon’s main stage guitars from the late 80’s to the late 90’s. Gibbon’s first used this guitar in the late 80’s to try out his Tokai Les Paul, and he instantly fell in love. Tokai Les Paul Guitars were top notch instruments at the time and many artists chose to use it because of its quality and performance. Originally, the guitar did not have a sticker, but when Gibbon’s put on the “Grind” sticker, this guitar was known as his “Grind” guitar. The guitar shows much wear, as Gibbons used this on many performances. Here is a clip of Gibbon’s using the guitar for a French TV program in 1997, preforming his big songs “Jailhouse Rock” and “Brown Sugar”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6R-yD2RgDU . Gibbons gave the guitar to his long-time guitar tech, Billy Hale. Gibbons guitars are very scarce and desirable; this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own one of his main instruments. Very good condition. Comes with the original case, a letter of provenance from Billy Hale and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
