An incredible custom guitar created in Fender’s US manufacturing facility. A limited production 2012 Rolling Stones Fender Telecaster “Let it Bleed” promotional guitar with serial # US12074783. The story behind this fabulous guitar is as follows: In 2011, Alan Klein’s company ABKCO, who controlled the mid-period Rolling Stone’s catalog, was looking for a promotional partner for the release of the band’s remastered high def albums on HD Tracks. Fender Executives met with their marketing and sales team at their New York offices and they determined that the most compelling grand prize for their main media partner would be Guitar Player Magazine, which founded in 1967 has been the Bible for musicians and fans alike with features, articles, interviews, reviews of products, lessons. The goal was to create something that no Rolling Stones fan would ever have access to again — a one of a kind Fender Telecaster which was Keith Richard’s main guitar model of choice. The guitar would be an exact reproduction of the famous “Let It Bleed” gatefold cake album cover, front and back. The artwork was created by Robert Brownjohn, an American graphic designer known for blending graphic design concepts with wit and 1960s pop culture. He was a close friend of Keith Richards and also known for his motion picture text sequences especially for From Russia With Love and Goldfinger. The album cover is part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA). Fender agreed that the guitar would be the only one offered to the public and that total production would be limited to 8 total. One would be for promotion purposes, one for ABKCO, five for the members of The Rolling Stones and one for the Fender VP who oversaw the project. Comes with special edition clear vinyl lp pictured here. This magnificent guitar is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the executive at Fender that oversaw the guitar's creation and subsequent promotion and directly obtained the guitar from the Fender showroom, as well as a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
