On January 18, 1977, during Queen's “A Day At The Races” tour, at Cobo Hall, Detroit, Michigan our consignor attended the show. During the song "39," Freddy Mercury threw two tambourines to the crowd on both sides of the stage. Our consignor had 8th row tickets, in the middle, and caught the first tambourine. The people in front of him, attempted to grab the tambourine from him and he had a slight tug of war where it cracked the tambourine. He ended up with the tambourine that was thrown by Freddie Mercury into the crowd, which is now being offered in public sale. Freddie only played tambourines during that tour, making this extremely rare and desirable for any Queen collector. The tambourine has black tape which can be seen in the photograph of Freddie playing the tambourine. Comes with a letter of provenance and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
