President Bill Clinton signed this July 19, 1998 letter to renowned architect Philip Johnson in black fountain pen. The letter has been typed on official White House stationery and in it Clinton tells Johnson that he enjoyed seeing him at the "launch of the Penn Station redevelopment project event...." and thanks him for his "..kind note and suggestion." For more than 50 years, Philip Johnson was one of the most influential figures in American design and architecture, and was responsible for many landmark buildings including Pennzoil Place in Houston, the IDS Center in Minneapolis, the New York State Theater at Lincoln Center and of course the famous AT&T Building in New York City (now known as the SONY Building). A wonderful document showing the meeting of the minds of two great historical figures - one political and the other artistic. Very good condition. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
