This large, 16 X 17 black & white photograph is a rare image of legendary Marilyn Monroe in a jeweled costume taken at the circus in 1955. Made from the original negative, this vintage print is signed by the photographer, "Marvin Scott,” in the lower right corner. Scott is an Emmy winning Senior Correspondent and anchorman for WPIX television news programming. Scott has signed a typewritten note attached to the back of the frame describing his thrill in taking this photograph when as a teenager he gained access to the opening of a charity circus event in which Monroe participated using a high school press pass. Born Norma Jean Mortenson, Marilyn adopted her mother’s family name and became known as Marilyn Monroe after signing a contract with Twentieth Century-Fox Studios. Monroe eventually went on to make 29 films and become one of Hollywood’s biggest legends of the twentieth century. Very good condition. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
