"Clive: Inside the Record Business" original Greg and Tim Hildebrandt book cover painting and drawing. Two pieces . The painting is acrylics on canvas, measuring 25 x 25 and the drawing is pencil on velum, measuring 18 x 18. In 1975 a book was published entitled “Clive: Inside the Record Business,” which chronicled the life of the music industry legend Clive Davis. During his career Davis dealt with artists at the top of the music industry food chain, including but not limited to Bob Dylan, the late Janis Joplin, Simon & Garfunkel, Neil Diamond, Barbra Streisand, Jonny Cash and Miles Davis. When Bantam Books acquired the right to publish the soft cover edition of the book, they commissioned Greg and Tim Hildebrandt to do the cover art. This set includes the concept sketch and the framed Acrylic piece that was used for the final cover. This painting pays homage to the art style of the renaissance era with the subject in profile and engulfed in a halo. The halo itself is a work of art that includes the names of just some of the recording artists that Clive had worked with during his illustrious career. Very good condition.
