This custom tailored wool sport coat was worn by the character “Joe Mannix” portrayed by Mike Connors in the hit crime drama “Mannix”, 1967-1975. The blue and white chevron weave sport coat has large notch lapels, two lower slanted flap pockets, matching ticket pocket at left and three black button front closure. Internal Botany 500 label and Harry Cherry label inscribed “Mike Connors, 7/16/72, 414”. Mr. Connors wears this sport coat throughout Season 6 Episode 4 “Broken Mirror”. In the episode, Mannix goes to meet Gina Hunter (Anjanette Comer) who was missing earlier in the episode. Mannix interrogates Gina and discovers that she was involved in her own kidnapping, embezzling, and other various other charges. Produced by Desilu Productions, “Mannix” was the last show the company work on. The show and the lead actors, Mike Connors and Gail Fisher, are Primetime Emmy Award and Golden Globe award winners. Mike Connors later reprised his role of “Joe Mannix” on an episode of “Diagnosis Murder” titled “Hard-Boiled Murder” (1997). The coat is in excellent vintage screen worn condition and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the costume house issued by The Golden Closet, photos of Mr. Connors wearing the coat and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
