An extraordinary Tupac Shakur handwritten and signed two page letter that he wrote while he was in prison at Riker's Island, addressed "Attention: Deputy Warden Young or Any Captain" detailing his grievances regarding his treatment while he was incarcerated. The letter is handwritten and signed in black ink on two sheets of 13 x 8.5 lined yellow paper. He has printed his name at the bottom of the first page and has signed it on the second page, each time he has also written what appears to have been his inmate identification number. In the letter Tupac talks about having been shot five times and convicted of crimes "that I didn't commit" yet "coming to terms with the Jury's decision." He writes about how he wants to "build myself into a wiser and stronger person" while he is in prison" but that he is being verbally abused and harassed by correctional officers at the prison who have gone out of their way to debase and demoralize him. The letter is a fascinating look into the mind of Tupac during a time of great internal struggle as he was trying to get to a better place within himself and with the world around him. The letter is accompanied by an original color Polaroid photograph of Tupac while he was in prison and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
