Carl Perkins hand wrote and signed these lyrics to "Your True Love" in black ink. He has also dated the lyrics February 20, 1956, which is probably the date of when he originally wrote the song. The song was recorded on Tuesday, December 4, 1956 when Elvis Presley made a surprise visit to Sun Studios at 706 Union in Memphis, Tennessee. Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis also participated in the impromptu jam session that day known as the "Million Dollar Quartet." The song was released on Sun Records in 1957.
