Elvis Presley wore these brown leather boots while filming his 1968 NBC Comeback Special that aired on December 3, 1968. They originally came from a female assistant who worked on the special whose main responsibility was as a continuity liaison - making sure that clothes, etc. in one scene were kept the same for the next scene. She was on the set during the fairgrounds scene when Elvis was engaged in a karate fight and the heel of his black leather boot was broken. The boots that were brought to replace them from wardrobe were the boots offered here, which are brown not black. Further scenes were shot until this assistant noticed the different color and shooting was stopped while black boots were then brought from wardrobe for Elvis to change into. The female assistant kept the boots as a personal memento but she was concerned because Elvis had worn the boots into the studio that day. Elvis had even apologized saying that he was wearing a brown outfit that day upon coming into the studio (hence the brown boots). Very good condition. These boots comes with a letter of provenance from John Pia, the husband of the female assistant who kept the boots that day, a letter of provenance from Joseph Kereta who purchased the boots from the husband and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
