Jonny Z's (Jonathan Zazula) original poster artwork mechanicals for Venom with special guest Metallica for their concerts on April 22 and 24, 1983 at the Paramount Theater in Staten Island, New York City. The framed poster mechanicals is accompanied by the finished poster, also framed, along with an original ticket for the April 22nd show. Jonny Z is the former owner of New Jersey's Rock'n Roll Heaven record store and founder of record label Megaforce Records. Zazula's record store in East Brunswick, New Jersey made him a central figure of the East Coast metal scene. His central role in the East Coast metal scene would later be an essential factor in launching the career of Metallica. Zazula offered the band their first opportunity to play in the New York area and organized their first tours with Raven, one of the leading metal bands from the UK at that time. After hearing the demo tape No Life 'Til Leather, he founded the label Megaforce Records to release their work. Zazula released Metallica's debut album Kill 'Em All and set up an East Coast tour with private funding. The mechanicals artwork is professionally matted and framed to measure 24 x 30.5 with acrylic uv filtering and the finished poster is professionally matted and framed to measure 22.5 x 28. The ticket stub measures 1.5 x 3.5. Very good condition. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
