As one-half of the most successful songwriting team in history and the de facto leader of the greatest band of all-time, it is impossible to understate John Lennon’s impact on the world of music. His time with The Beatles, during which he cultivated his songwriting collaboration with band mate Paul McCartney, produced some of the most iconic rock and roll music of the 20th Century. To this day, the Beatles remain the most commercially successful band in popular music. Offered here is a National Westminster Bank Limited cancelled check drawn on the account of “MACLEN (MUSIC) LTD 1975”. The check is made out to “Inland Revenue” (the UK equivalent to the US IRS) in the amount of £80 and 4P, and is dated NOVEMBER 30, 1977. John Lennon has signed the check in the bottom right corner in black ink. The account was only used to pay taxes and required Lennon’s signature as well as McCartney's signature or someone appointed by McCartney to sign on his behalf. For this case, McCartney appointed Brian Brolly to sign the check. Brolly was the managing director of Paul McCartney’s “MPL Communications” company. Very good condition. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
