John Lennon has handwritten this letter to Howard Smith and signed it "Love from John &Yoko" with his "signature" caricatures of himself Yoko adding "Hassle Hassle" above it. The letter can be dated to 1973 as the original envelope that accompanies it has been stamped "1973 Apr 14 PM 10 24". John has written to say he and Yoko had to leave L.A. for business reasons in New York, referring to the city as the "Big apple", and apologizing for not being able to call their friends because they were "too HASSLED with business." Witten in black felt tip pen, on 8 x 12.5 white lined paper, John has dated it "Sat Morning Dawn" and signed it "Love from John & Yoko." He has written "Hassle Hassle" with his "signature" John and Yoko caricature drawing. Lennon has also hand written "Howard Smith, Beverly Hills Hotel" in black felt tip pen, on the verso. Accompanied by the original 9.5 x 4 Apple envelope that Lennon used, which he addressed "Howard Smith, Beverly Hills Hotel," with a his return address on the verso "from the Courys' Bungalow 17". The 1973 date stamp appears on the front. The letter has yellowing and the envelope has been torn where it was originally opened. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
