Jimi Hendrix owned and worn long sleeved red "cowboy" style shirt from the collection of Mike Quashie. The shirt, with a "Jazz San Francisco" label, is embellished on the front and the back with a black embroidered "feather" design studded with tiny crystals. Hendrix gifted the shirt to Quashie on one of the many time they had spent time together. Matthew "Michael" Quashie was known as the Limbo King and was an early champion of the young Hendrix, often letting him crash at his Bedford St. apartment in Greenwich Village, New York City, which became known as “Jimi’s Hideaway” after Hendrix’s death. It is believed that it was Quashi who influenced Hendrix's "voo-doo" and fire aspects of his persona. The shirt shows wear including holes in the elbows. Comes with a letter from Mike Quashie and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
