First Day cover postmarked February 15, 1965 with a stamp commemorating the Centennial of the Sokols Physical Fitness signed and inscribed by the legendary Olympic athlete “Jesse Owens 26 Olympics,” in black ink. It was during the 1936 Olympics that Owens established himself as one of the greatest track & field athletes in history when he embarrassed Hitler by winning Gold Medals in four events, establishing several new world records.
